- VÉSZI (Weiss), ENDRE (1916– ), Hungarian poet and author. Vészi, who abandoned Socialism in order to adhere to the Communist party line, wrote many poems and stories on proletarian themes. His verse collections include Ünneprontó ("The Desecrator of the Festival," 1936); among prose works are the novel Felszabadultál ("You are Liberated," 1937) and A küldetés ("The Mission," 1954).
